A wisdom tooth is often the tooth
that lastly comes through and grows at the back of the gums. Due to lack of
space, it develops in an abrupt manner, as it sometimes is stuck at unusual

- Nausea and Vomiting: In such a case, you should have liquids sip by sip and that too after an hour of the surgery.
- Muscle spasms: This can cause limitation during opening of mouth as jaw muscles get stiff
Tips to recover
Some of the effectual tips to recover after undergoing extraction method include:
- Take the prescribed medicine on time
- Bite the gauze pads gently but firmly
- Change the gauze pads as soon as they get soaked with blood
- Eat soft and chilled foods like ice creams and yogurt
- Apply ice bags on the affected area for short period at regular intervals. Ice bags also help in reducing the swelling.
- Avoid the extraction area while brushing your teeth
- Do not lie flat when you want to rest, as it may prolong the bleeding
- Do not smoke or drink
- Avoid strenuous activities and at least take bed rest for a day
